The Anderson Localisation takes you on a journey into the quantum world where the past, present and future co-exist.

Using Pickpath, a cutting-edge interactive app on your phone, you’ll be taken on a unique, audio-driven, individual journey into the quantum world and through one of Ōtepoti’s hidden laneways. The Anderson Localisation reveals a hidden realm and tells a story of how the tiny atomic world can shape our understanding of life. Created by Martyn Roberts, David O’Donnell, Hilary Halba, Sofia Kalogeropoulou, David Hutchinson, Doug Ditford and Amanda Faye Martin.

Participants should wear warm clothing and footwear, and bring an umbrella (just in case — this is Dunedin) as some of the experience takes place outside.

Pickpath can be loaded onto your phone via your app store.

Where?

No Name Alley is the laneways that sit off Bond Street in the section between Police Street and Jetty Street. The event begins in the lovely micro brewery that is The Steamer Basin Taproom so this is where you will make you way for your designated start time (12pm, 2pm or 4pm, check your booking).

What do I need in order to participate?

You will need to bring a fully-charged smartphone with a good amount of data available that can download apps. This is vital so you can be guided through the experience. You will also need to be able to hear sound from your phone, so please bring your own headphones or earbuds.

You’ll also need to download the free PickPath app before you attend (see instructions below).

What should I wear?

This being Ōtepoti we recommend wearing warm, shower proof clothing as a lot of The Anderson Localisation experience takes place outside in the No Name Alley. Please bring an umbrella just in case!

Health and safety

Part of the experience involves sipping a small glass of herbal elixir. This non-alcoholic beverage contains: elderberries (1.25g), ginger root (250mg), mānuka leaf (50g), dried ginger (10mg), organic raw apple cider vinegar and Otago honey.

The elixir contains no added: soy gluten, corn, yeast, dairy, & no artificial flavours, colours, sweeteners, preservatives or GMO additives.

If you have any allergies or intolerences to the above ingredients, please alert our team at the event. We can substitute the elixir with water. It will not detract from your experience.

There will be Dunedin Arts Festival volunteers at the entrance to the laneway to recieve your booking, and throughout the experience there will be two or three stage crew available for support or assistance. They love to help!
